DOMICILIARY HEALTH CENTRE

Maseru, Lesotho

  • PROJECT COMPLETION
    2010
  • PROJECT VALUE
    R 50 million

The brief for the upgrading of the existing Domiciliary Health Centre in Maseru called for the following four building components:
1. Health Centre
2. Multi-Purpose Hall
3. Lodger facilities
4. Staff Accommodation

The design of this facility is based on the principles of low-cost efficient air borne infection control and ease of access for pedestrians and other visitors.

The design strives to resolve the matter of airborne infection control through innovative layouts, the use of high volumes in the public circulation and waiting areas, large window areas which allows for the penetration of natural light and Ultra Violet Rays, and sufficient cross ventilation.
